Besides this, it is also used as an antiseptic in minor cuts and abrasions. Sucralfate is a protectant with anti-inflammatory properties which forms a coating over the affected skin surface. This creates a physical barrier that protects the skin from further injury and stimulates the synthesis and release of prostaglandins and the epidermal growth factor which stimulates healing. Mupirocin is a topical broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent and has bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and yeasts, which contaminate skin and mucosa. It kills the bacteria that cause skin infections by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins and RNA synthesis necessary for the survival of bacteria. Collectively, Golcin Ointment 10 gm prevents the skin infection from spreading, and reduces inflammation symptoms (burning sensation, irritation swelling, and pain).
